In-Character Rules
1) God Modding - A god mod is an action that a character makes that is physically impossible for that character, or any character really, to make. If a character does not have the power to make it rain, but roleplays making it rain, that is a prime example of god modding. It can also entail roleplaying damage against another character. An example of what is allowed and what isn't is -
A) Jack slashed Jim's chest open with his sword, causing Jim to bleed profusely. (This is illegal.)
B) Jack aimed to slash Jim's chest with his sword. (Legal.)
2) Meta Gaming - The term means that a player does something IC with absolutely no basis other than information learned completely OOC. So if you know from reading that someone has a concealed knife, but haven't seen it IC, and make a move that suggests you know he has that knife, that would be meta-gaming. Another example would be knowing somebody's name or history without learning it IC.
3) Puppeteering - Put simply, Puppeteering is roleplaying another character without their permission. If control is granted this is alright, but make sure to make it clear that control has been given to you. This can include having them say something they didn't roleplay saying, doing something they didn't do, or even giving them injuries they haven't stated having in a fight.
4) Auto-Killing - Writing another character's death without expressed permission of that character's owner is auto-killing. It is like puppeteering, except to the extreme. Killing a character can only take place when agreed upon by the owner of that character. Also, it's preferred that the person makes a post to express their death as opposed to someone roleplaying it out, even if it's just so that we can see that they meant to die.
5) Adult Content - Obviously a board with magic and weapons will get gruesome and bloody, so make sure that who you are roleplaying with understands this before going into immense detail about wounds. The major thing, however, is that you keep sexual content to a bare minimum. Do not describe sex organs or nudity, and do not roleplay out sexual intercourse. It's understood that characters will get together, but make use of time skips, and if you really feel the need to roleplay out the events, please do so in personal messaging, but keep it off the public boards.
Out-of-Character Rules
1) Respect yourself and others. Realize we all have a difference of opinions, and while disagreements are bound to happen, we don't want flaming to occur. So don't attack another person on the site or you will be punished. And if staff tells you to end a disagreement, end it.
2) Do not post any adult material or links to any adult material on the site.
3) Keep IC and OOC separate. It's understood that arguments may happen over something happening in a thread, but unless it involves any sort of rule breaking, IC problems stay IC. Someone may be a very nice person in real life, but roleplay the biggest asshole known to man, so don't get upset with someone over something done in roleplay. And that goes both ways, if someone is an asshole in real life but roleplays a sweet innocent gentle character, don't go attacking them because you had an argument over messenger.
4) Please respect staff decision on issues that are brought up. If you are having issues with a member, try talking with them about it before bringing it to staff. Most of the times issues can just be misunderstandings. If you can not come to an agreement, bring in a staff member, but realize that their decision will be final.
5) Have fun, this is all for entertainment and enjoying some quality time to read and write stories, so lt's try to be civil, have a good time and enjoy the experience, yeah?
